Advanced Crane Rope Inspections - LMI

We start at where rope made its first appearance around 17000 BC in the form of "hemp" and cover the history of the steel wire rope methodically working our way through the Iron Age to discussing the first wire ropes being installed in the "deep" level mining industry in Germany back in the early 1800's.

The infamous "non-spin" ropes are explained and the very tricky abrasion resistance versus fatigue resistance is practically explained in the class discussion session. Rotational, semi non-rotational and fully non-rotational ropes will be in the order of the day.

We explain the details between the Seale and Warrington's construction designs and after elaborating on the well-known "D/d Ratio" your LMI should at this stage feel pretty uncomfortable when using the word "cable" in the class.

Basic Rigging Training

The course covers the correct use, safe inspection and maintenance of the typical workshop and mine lifting equipment. The training is done against US 253575.

The students will be taught how to calculate load weights and carefully select the correct tackle considering the sling angles and other external elements.

Inspection, Service or Repair & Load Testing of Chain Hoists - LMI

This training session over three days ensures that the students understand how to correctly service and or repair the hoists and allows the students to practically repair and load test under the watchful eye of a registered LMI in the category.

With 40 different brands and models available to strip and assemble this will make for the most valuable training any manual hoist technician can attend.

Lifting Tackle Inspection Training - LTI

Although the LMI should be competent in the inspection of Lifting Tackle we cover Tackle in greater depth during this one day session. Various standards are brought into the discussion and attention is drawn to the correct marking and material grades as far as Lifting Tackle is concerned.

Come and learn something new and get the opportunity of witnessing many new developments that have taken place of the past few years. While doing so you can have your questions answered during the very well-researched and presented session.

This is the correct way of starting any future LMI's life in the lifting world.
